Your mornings stay yours.

1. The short version

Beckon is on-device and account-free. Everything you create — your name, your wake window, your wake records and stats, your settings — is stored on your device using Apple’s on-device database (SwiftData).

• We have no account and no sign-up — no email, no password, no social login.
• We run no backend server that stores your data. Codeful cannot see your name or your wake records.
• We use no third-party analytics SDKs, no ad SDKs, and no trackers.
• We do not sell or share your data with anyone.
• The only time Beckon reaches the network is the optional morning briefing, which uses Apple Weather and (if you allow it) your next calendar event — both handled by Apple, never sent to Codeful. See §5.

2. No account, no sign-up

You don’t create an account to use Beckon. There is no email address, no password, and no social login. You open the app and set your alarm. Because there is no account, there is no profile for us to hold and no credentials for us to store or lose.

3. What data exists, and where it lives

The only meaningful data in Beckon is what you set up. It is stored on your device.

What we do not collect: we do not collect your contacts, photos, microphone audio (beyond a recorded-voice clip you deliberately create, which stays on device), or health data. We do not assign you an advertising identifier, and we do not perform cross-app tracking. We do not use your data to train any AI model.

4. Your name & the voice

Beckon’s signature is that it calls you by your own name. The name you enter is used on your device to speak the wake line aloud, using Apple’s on-device text-to-speech. Your name is not sent to Codeful and is not sent to any third party. If you use Beckon Pro’s recorded-voice wake (your own voice or a loved one’s), that recording is stored on your device only.

5. Optional morning briefing (weather & calendar)

Beckon offers an optional morning briefing that can mention the day’s weather and your first event of the day. These features are off until you enable them and grant permission, and they are the only parts of Beckon that touch the network or other apps:

• Weather (Apple Weather / WeatherKit). If you turn on the weather briefing, Beckon asks iOS for your location and requests the forecast from Apple Weather. To return local weather, this OS-level request may share your approximate location and IP address with Apple (and its data source) under Apple’s Weather privacy terms. Codeful never receives your location. If you deny location or leave the feature off, Beckon simply omits the weather.
• Calendar. If you allow it, Beckon reads your next calendar event so the briefing can mention it. This is read on your device through Apple’s EventKit; it is not sent to Codeful or anyone else. If you deny calendar access, Beckon simply omits it.

You can turn the briefing off, or revoke location and calendar permissions, at any time in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security (or in Beckon’s settings).

6. Analytics, advertising & tracking

Beckon contains no third-party analytics SDKs, no advertising SDKs, and no trackers. We do not embed Facebook, Google, or any other tracking library. We do not sell or share your data.

The only aggregate statistics we can ever see are Apple’s own App Store Connect / App Analytics — anonymous, app-level numbers (like downloads or crash counts) that Apple provides to every developer. These never include your name or wake data and never identify you. You can opt out of sharing this analytics with developers in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Analytics & Improvements.

7. Alarms & notifications

Beckon’s alarms are built on Apple’s AlarmKit and scheduled locally on your device — we do not run a push server and we do not send alarms or notifications from our infrastructure. You grant alarm/notification permission yourself, and you can change it any time in iOS Settings.

8. Purchases

Beckon Pro is handled entirely by Apple StoreKit. We never see your payment method or card details. Apple handles billing, renewals, the 7-day free trial, and entitlement state.

• Refunds are issued by Apple, at reportaproblem.apple.com. We cannot issue refunds directly.
• Restore — “Restore Purchases” in the app brings back any Pro entitlement attached to your Apple ID. Family Sharing is supported.

9. Children

Beckon is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect any data from children. Because there is no account and your data does not leave your device, there is no profile of any user — child or adult — for us to hold. If you believe a child has used the app in a way that concerns you, contact us at support@vibeland.app.

10. Your data & deletion

Because your data lives on your device, you are in control of it at all times:

• Edit or clear your name, wake records, and settings directly in the app.
• Delete everything — deleting the Beckon app from your device removes its on-device data, including your name and wake records.

Codeful holds no copy of your data to delete, because we never received one. If you have EU/UK (GDPR), California (CCPA), or Korean (PIPA) data-protection questions, write to us — but in practice, deleting the app puts deletion entirely in your hands.

11. Security

Your data is protected by your device’s encryption. Because we run no server that stores your data, there is no central database of user content to breach. No system is perfect — if you have a concern, please contact us.

12. Governing law

This policy is governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea, except where the data-protection laws of your country grant you additional, non-waivable rights (in which case those apply).

13. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as the app evolves. Material changes will be reflected here with a new “Last updated” date, and surfaced in the app where appropriate. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated policy.
